Who You Are

OK, so this is my first "official" post

The song i chose for today is Who you are by Jessie J. You can find the song with lyrics on the video playlist:) I love all of the lyrics to this song, especially the beginning of the first and second verses. In the first verse, she starts off by saying: i stare at my reflection in the mirror. why am i doing this to myself? I think that is true for so many of us-we look in the mirror and do not like what we see, but i love the chorus because she says: seeing is deceiving. The beginning of the second verse says: brushing my hair do i look perfect? i forgot what to do to fit the mold. Again, that is so true. we try to fit each mold of who others want us to be. The chorus is another thing i love about this song. my favorite part of it is the last few lines: tears don't mean you're losing, everybody's bruising. just be true to who you are!

  2. ReNay, this song is great! It's got such a neat message, and maybe it's just me, but throught parts of the song I thought it sounded like she was singing with a mexican accent! :) (it's probably not really supposed to sound like that, but I thought it did, so whatever...) But like you said, I also really liked the line "Tears don't mean you're losing, everybody's bruising, there's nothing wrong with who you are." Thanks for posting this :D
